This is joke, please tell me this is a joke. Oooo the universe is cruel. Its not even half hour since I just paid for a new plan on SiteGround, logged in etc. And then tried to access “My Account” which was simply not proceeding. Kept trying and trying and finally got a “504 Gateway Time-out nginx”. Ouch.
And then I see an important update posted:
Dear Customer, We have detected an unexpected network failure at one of our upstream network providers that affects the connectivity to your hosting server. As this issue is outside of our network and our control, we have reported the problem to our upstream provider and expect a resolution shortly. Usually network providers manage to resolve this by rerouting the traffic to another network. We kindly ask you not to post trouble tickets in the Helpdesk area regarding your account during the resolution process. We will keep you updated by posting regular messages in the Server Status Check section. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and cooperation. Best regards, The SiteGround Team

It took the team about 15 – 18 HOURS to resolve this issue. Until then everything down!
This is crazy and/or funny. Just in my previous post, New hosting plan with SiteGround, I was extolling the virtues of going with SG, and a main decision point being SG’s legendary uptime, and lo and behold, RIGHT after I took the plan, they experience the most severe downtime.
Did I say the universe is cruel?
